SHEMA שְׁמַע

Shema explores the threshold between audibility and silence. The installation uses small DC motors and directional fans to activate a constellation of bells, creating moments of sound that hover at the edge of perception. The bells respond with minimal gestures: a slight rotation, a soft tremor, a delicate shift caused by air rather than force. Much of the work unfolds in waiting—intervals where nothing occurs and yet the room feels poised for something to happen. The piece invites attention to the almost-events: the vibration before resonance, the breath before sound.
